The Bergkirchweih festival in Erlangen is one of Bavaria’s most iconic folk festivals, known for its vibrant beer gardens, music, and centuries-old traditions. In this project, I present a unique collection of ink sketches, created as part of my “Urban Sketching at Erlangen Bergkirchweih” series. These hand-drawn illustrations capture the lively atmosphere, historical setting, and joyful moments of the event.
As an artist, I attended the festival, documenting its energy and cultural essence in a series of detailed ink sketches. From bustling beer gardens to quiet moments in the festival’s wooded surroundings, these illustrations offer a fresh perspective on the Bergkirchweih, one of Germany’s largest and oldest folk festivals.
